We were 4 couples travelling in early October 2013. This small hotel has an outstanding location for discovering the fantastic old city of Bologna. We were impressed with the generous breakfast included with our room fee and more than satisfied with the value.

A lovely boutique hotel
Booked Hotel Metropolitan for an overnight stay prior to flying home from Italy. The hotel is very conveniently located in Bologna city centre, on a side street with restricted traffic access, very convenient for Bologna's main square and Bologna Central Station. It's a boutique hotel with a very fresh, neutral, modern decor and fittings - very clean, calm and inviting. Our bedroom had separate dressing room with massive storage area, bedroom area was smart and had been thoughtfully planned with really good variety of lighting, tea making facilities (don't get these in all hotels), comfortable beds, tables. The bathroom was very spacious indeed with a large shower cubicle and excellent shower. Toiletries were provided and, not that usual, face, hand and bath towels. Our room faced onto the side street and had large tilt and turn windows with shutters and voile curtains. There was noise from the side street from 5pm to about 8pm as the cafes/bars are busy on Sunday night but this was reduced a great deal by closing the windows. This is the only thing we feel might be considered a disadvantage by some. At 8pm the cafes and bars were quiet as the locals went on to have their evening meals and the windows were opened again - no significant noise thereafter. The continental breakfast was of very high quality and very nicely presented with a wide range of fruit, yoghurt, cereals, cheeses, cold meats, breads, jams and honey plus some hot food. The staff were very helpful. All good.
