Perfect location in a fabulous city

Just returned from a 7 night stay at the Hotel Touring and we couldnt have picked a better hotel for friendliness, comfort and location. From the smiling welcome by Irene and the other daytime staff, to the friendly and accommodating night staff and cleaners, it...Più

Great hotel close to everything

We stayed 2 nights. Room and bathroom size was adequate, although our friend room for 1 person was small. Breakfast and ladies who serviced it were outstanding and generally speaking staff was very helpful. I booked a garage via hotel for $25€ a day which is a standard price - 300-400 meters walk but parking is a headache in the city.Mi sono piaciuti: Breakfast, location. Roof terrace
Non mi sono piaciuti: For some reason my room didn't have a coffee or tea (but our friend's room did)[extra]Close to the historical part - 5 minutes walk [/extra]

Excellent hotel, close to city centre

Interesting city with many medieval buildings, good museums and art galleries. One of the food capitals of Italy, but quite expensive to eat out in central area. Aerobus at Euro 6 runs from airport to railway station, and from there Number 30 bus at Euro 1.3 to within 2 mins walk from hotel (2017 prices).Mi sono piaciuti: Excellent rooms, friendly staff, close to city centre.
Non mi sono piaciuti: Nothing of importance[extra]Excellent location, ten minutes walk from medieval city centre and quality shops. Two cheapish restaurants very close to hotel, and small supermarket [/extra]

Lovely welcome in an excellent location

With only 30 hrs to explore Bologna and travelling on my own, I wanted somewhere central and comfortable but not too expensive. I couldn't have been happier with the Hotel Touring. I arrived about 11am so hoped I could leave my luggage but didn't expect to be able to check in. I was made welcome (in excellent English) and told my luggage would be waiting for me in my room on my return, which it was. The room (on the second floor) had a double, rather than a single, bed and overlooked a quiet courtyard. Everything was very clean and neat; the room's décor was slightly old-fashioned but definitely not 'tired'. The spacious bathroom was particularly smart and there were plenty of toiletries towels and tissues. Connecting my phone to the wi-fi was fine but my laptop gave problems. The person on reception helped me sort it out. The building is nice, with a small courtyard, a bar and plenty of space to sit. The underground breakfast room is bright, stylish and cheerful and the breakfast buffet was the best I've had for a long time. There was a very wide, varied choice of high quality, fresh hot and cold food and the staff made sure it was kept well-stocked. One thing that has often annoyed me in Italian hotels is having only tiny cups and small dishes but here there was a choice of large or small cups and even mugs and there was plenty of room in the dish for my fresh fruit salad, muesli and yoghurt. Staff were helpful and informative. Overall, excellent and good value for moneyMi sono piaciuti: Excellent location: quiet but only seven minutes walk from the main square Wonderful, varied breakfast buffet Friendly, helpful staff good value[extra]quiet location very close to city centre pedestrian area, shops, bars, interesting buildings and bus routes[/extra]

great location and lovely small hotel

My son, husband and I stayed in rm6b which is actually across the street from the main part of the hotel. At first we werent sure we would like that but actually it was super convenient - no elevator to contend with! This hotel has a beautiful rooftop lounge, and a great breakfast! the beds were super comfortable, the towels, soft and luxurious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. we would definitely stay there again.

Ideal hotel for a city stay, to appreciate Bologna

We visited Bologna for 3 days some 10 years ago, but wanted to see more of it, the Touring Hotel was as before extremely friendly & helpful and we enjoyed a most interesting 4 days there. On their recommendation we visited two excellent restaurants, the Italians do have an amazing ability to generate tastes that are so enjoyable. We also walked to St Luca, along about 4 miles of arcades, at age 75 quite an experience, as the last 1mile or so is quite a stiff climb, as a point of interest make sure you have been to attend to calls of nature before you start, it is designed I guess for angels not humans . We were fortunate to enjoy very good weather and even at the end of October were able to sit outside in the evening at various restaurants & cafes.Mi sono piaciuti: The overall friendliness, its excellent position, making the whole of the old town accessible.
Non mi sono piaciuti: I found everything to my liking as the people running it were so helpful and pleasant.[extra]Mentioned above, but try to talk to fellow visitors be they students or aged types like us.[/extra]

A gem of a hotel right where you need it

Do not be fooled by the modest facade, this well run, well appointed hotel is worth every cent. Like the tardis the inside delights at every turn. There are a range of rooms, from family apartments, to stylish refurbished doubles. The newly decorated rooms are an incongruous delight with all the mod-cons, but do not dismiss the well maintained classic rooms which retain a pleasing stylish Italian tradition - and still have all the facilities. The roof terrace is a real pleaser, during the day a retreat to read, relax in the Jacuzzi, stretch out in the sun or just take in the breathtaking views over this wonderful city. During the evening the terrace transforms into a romantic platform to enjoy a traditional Italian menu, local entertainment and of course the view. Last but certainly not least - the staff, without exception to all, a big thank you. Helpful, friendly and professional, every one of the team made us welcome.Mi sono piaciuti: Central, friendly, clean, all the facilities we needed plus the roof terrace!
Non mi sono piaciuti: no[extra]Just a short walk to the attractions of the old town both historical and retail[/extra]

Wonderful breakfasts, very clean...everywhere. Room recently renovated. Great 5th floor terrace with superb views of Bologna at roof top height! Drinks and jacuzzi available at terrace, too. Easy and quick to get to city centre on foot.Mi sono piaciuti: All of the above!
Non mi sono piaciuti: Can't think of anything.[extra]Easy walk to all parts of city, great location. Good local restaurants, better than the centre from our point if view.[/extra]

Fantastic hotel, will definitely stay again!

We arrived at the hotel around midnight and it had been snowing heavily. We stayed on the second floor in room 225 near the lift, which wasn't a problem. The room was modern, clean and comfortable with a modern bathroom and shower. After our check in we decided to check out the terrace on the 5th floor. The view over a snowy Bologna at night was magnificent..........I can only imagine what it would be like on a hot summers day. We certainly intend on coming back to find out! The breakfast was delicious and had a very good variety of cooked and continental options served by friendly staff.........the prosecco with our breakfast started our weekend break off fantastically. We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Bologna looking for a value for money, well located, welcoming and friendly hotel. We will certainly be staying here again when we return.
